Drini & the Bad Kats Band

Drini & the Bad Kats Band is a local Bay Area band that brings dynamic interpretations of R&B Soul, Blues, Swampy Funk and Classic Rock to their audiences. Nothing about this band is typical, including the songs they cover and the talent they present to their audiences since 2021. 

When Drini, Ed, & the guys met up at a small studio in Redwood City in 2021, it was clear that palpable energy was present. The magic of the music spoke to all of them and the potential was recognized. Drini & the Bad Kats Band was born, and got to work crafting their sound; their interpretations; their magic.

The Band:  Drini Phipps brings strong emotions to her lead VOCALS, while painting the lyrical story of each song she sings.  Lead GUITARIST, Ed Elizalde's wicked and stirring guitar passages bring the song riff structures to life; not to mention his monster solos and captivating slide work.  BASS Dude, Robert Amador, lays down bass lines that are fat, juicy and rich with texture.  Robert also offers lead and backing vocals to many tunes.  And when his bass locks in with the precision, snappy snare beats and deep kick funk put down by DRUMMER, Bill Swanson, the rhythm section just can't and won't be denied.   John Axcon, on the SAX, brings the soul of the R&B sound to the tunes that makes the audience oh so happy.
